"...The vision is for us to acquire marketable skills that will provide us with a legal avenue of financial support. The Vision dictates that we learn the political process of our community and become involved to the extent of having a voice in our destiny; that we conduct ourselves in a manner that is compatible to our commu-nity; that we frown upon the senseless rape, robbery, burglary, theft and murder that is rampant in our community; that we establish ourselves in business that is an asset to ourselves as well as to our community that we set examples that will make it safe for our youth to be part of us; and ultimately, that we eliminate the awesome rate of recidivism that is the experience of a large portion of our youth."

Founded in 2024 by CEO Steve Martin, President Teddy Cobb, and Vice President/Treasurer Nikitta Martin, Save Our Selves is dedicated to tackling critical social issues. Our journey started with a small group of passionate individuals committed to making a difference in their communities. Each of us has faced hardships growing up, but we united with the shared goal of aiding the less fortunate. We initially partnered with our local Salvation Army to help feed those in need and then collaborated with other organizations that shared our vision of a better community with justice and equality in urban neighborhoods.

While we may not always be in perfect alignment, we share a common goal: a better place with improved laws and opportunities for the black community. We are not just a race but a majority shaping this country and growing stronger together. Despite efforts to divide us, we are awakening to the realization that, like a mission, there should be an end game—a black Wall Street, no black-on-black crime, and a strong, unified people under one God. We do this not to gain likes, followers, or admission to the upper class, but to show our people that we can be the change we seek. We can work together with others, demonstrating our ability to unite and collaborate for the betterment of our community.

Save Our Selves is a group of people from all walks of life who understand that we need to work together to create the changes we want to see. By doing our part, no one will have to carry the burden alone. We come from diverse backgrounds, including different religions, races, nationalities, and creeds. We are hardworking men and women in various professions, such as factory workers, city workers, construction workers, business owners, etc., who are passionate about making a difference. We’re tired of senseless violence, the loss of our loved ones and children, and the imprisonment of our men, women, and youths. We stand against injustice in all its forms. We encourage our young people to stay in school, pursue education, get trades, and graduate. This way, they can better support themselves, their families, and contribute to their communities. We guide and educate our youths in the right way, opposing individuals who bully, mislead, and manipulate them. We envision families enjoying peaceful cookouts in parks without the fear of gun violence. We want our daughters to feel safe walking to the corner store without being dragged behind buildings or alleys. We want our young men to walk down the street without being shot at or harassed by the police. We want our loved ones to go to work without fear of domestic terrorism. We want our families to stop at red lights without being carjacked or shot. We believe in equal opportunity and justice for all. We want to bring back the sense of community where neighbors can trust each other to watch their children while their parents are at work. We are the ones who want a change. We are the ones pushing for peace and unity. Save Our Selves is the dream and vision of our forefathers. It’s not just about a single day or a neighborhood; it’s about a lifestyle that encompasses every aspect of our lives. It’s bigger than any single entity, and it’s something that we all need to work together to achieve. We want unity, and we know that we’re stronger together. Let’s come together and make a difference. Let’s spread love, respect, and honor to all.
